Fast Stop at Winter St. House Fire

By Shannan Murphy, LFD Press Liaison

At approximately 8:15pm on May 16, 2005, the Lynbrook Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire at 81 Winter Street.  With the arrival of the first due engine company, a "Signal 10" - or working fire was transmitted.  A two-hose line operation was in place supported by Engines 421, 422, 423 and 424.  Truck Co. #1 conducted a search of the home, vented the roof and overhauled the house.  Medical Co. #1 was also on scene.  The fire was contained to the attic.  The cause of the fire is being determined.

The East Rockaway Fire Department was called to the scene for a fast truck.  An engine and a ladder was requested from the Rockville Centre Fire Department to stand-by at Denton Avenue quarters.
