On Sunday morning May 28th the Lynbrook Fire Department responded to a house fire at 23 Alice Court off of Hempstead Avenue.   Fire Chief Keith Festa upon his arrival broadcast a heavy smoke condition coming from the rear of the house.  It was determined that part of the rear porch and siding of the house was on fire.  With a one line hose attack from Engine Company #1, and overhall by Truck Company, the fire was put out in minutes.  All other companies stood-by.  The fire did not extend into the home.  The fire was blamed on a cigarette that had been discarded in a planter on the rear deck of the home.
