Mutual Aid to Valley Stream

Lynbrook firefighters under the command of First Assistant Chief Nicholas Pearsall responded on a mutual aid to the Valley Stream Fire Department for a Signal 10 house fire on the corner of Fairview Avenue and S. Grove Street on the afternoon of November 26, 2018.  Tally-Ho Engine 3 responded with additional manpower from Vulcan Company.  Third Assistant Chief John Donald also responded to the scene.  Allegedly, contractors working on the pipes in an upstairs bathroom started a fire in the wall.  Valley Stream ran two lines into the house and quickly knocked down the fire in the wall as it was moving up into the bathroom ceiling.  VSFD Assistant Chief O'Brien rescued the homeowners cat from the house.
