Mutual Aid to RVC

Story & Photos by Ex-Captain Steve Grogan

Lynbrook firefighters responded on a mutual aid to the Rockville Centre Fire Department on the afternoon of May 18, 2019 to a reported house fire on Pine Street in Rockville Centre.  Chief NIcholas Pearsall responded as did Truck Company 428 who was requested as a Fast Team.  RVC then later requested a stand-by engine to standby at their Morris Avenue firehouse.  Engine Company responded and stood-by.  The fire at the Pine Street home was in the rear first floor bathroom and was reportedly started accidentally while work was being done in the bathroom wall.  Truck Company manpower was not needed and they were released in about 30 minutes.  The fire was contained to the outside wall of the bathroom.
