Lynbrook firefighters under the command of Chief Nick Pearsall responded to a car fire on Ocean Avenue between Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road at about 6:45 PM on June 21, 2019.  Chief Pearsall arrived to find the car fully involved in fire.  He broadcast "a working fire" to the responding Hose Company engine which was already on the road.  The driver of the vehicle had safely exited the vehicle.  Assistant Chiefs MIchael Brooks and Chris Kelly were also at the scene.  When Hose Company arrived they immediately stretched a hose line to attack the burning vehicle.  Truck Company also responded and the assisted with the overhaul of the vehicle which was completely destroyed.  Traffic was shutdown on Ocean Avenue for about 30 minutes.
