Paying Respects

On July 3, 2019, Lynbrook and Rockville Centre's Truck Companies put up their ladders to hang an American flag over Ocean Avenue for the funeral procession of retired NYPD Detective Luis Alvarez who succumbed to his September 11th-related cancer on June 29th.  The firefighters from both departments saluted his memory and his dedication. 

Alvarez testified before a Congressional Committee to re-authorize the 9-11 medical program just days before his death.
