At the May 1, 2019 meeting of the Fourth Battalion Fire District, Lynbrook Ex-Chief John O'Reilly of Lynbrook's Engine Company 1 was elected the vice-chairman of the battalion.  Ex-Chief Robert Kloss of the East Rockaway FD was elected chairman while Ex-Chief Mark Murray of the Rockville Centre FD was elected Secretary and Ex-Chief Joseph Mihalich, Jr, was elected Treasurer.  The election was held at the annual meeting which was sponsored by the Lakeview FD and held at the Pompeii Restaurant in West Hempstead.  Also at the meeting, outgoing Chairman, Ex-Chief John Hennig of the Rockville Centre FD, was honored. The Fourth Battalion Fire District is composed of the East Rockaway, Lakeview, Lynbrook, Malverne, and Rockville Centre Fire Departments.
