At the Council meeting of the Lynbrook Fire Department on April 16, 2019, Nicholas Pearsall of Engine Company was sworn in by Mayor Alan Beach as Lynbrook's Chief Engineer for the coming year.  Chief Pearsall has been an assistant chief for the past three years.

Pearsall, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, has been a member of the Lynbrook Fire Department since 1998.  Prior to that he was a member of the Lynbrook Junior Fire Department.  He had joined the Junior program when he was 13 and then joined the fire department when he turned 18 years of age.  Pearsall went on to serve three terms as an line officer in Engine Company before being elected Third Assistant Chief in 2016.  He was elected Second Assistant Chief in 2017 and First Assistant Chief in 2018.  He was then elected by the fire department members as Chief of Department on April 4, 2019.

Pearsall's professional life supports his dedication to the Lynbrook Fire Department and the residents of the Incorporated Village of Lynbrook.  He is in his fifteen year as a New York City Firefighter assigned to Squad 252 in Brooklyn.  He is married to his wife, Shannon, who also comes from a fire department family, and they have two boys, Aidan and Nolan.

Also sworn in by the mayor that evening was First Assistant Chief Michael Brooks of Hose Company, Second Assistant Chief John Donald of Truck Company, and Third Assistant Chief Chris Kelly. The mayor then popped the traditional bottle of champagne and the mayor and chiefs toasted.  The newly elected company officers were then sworn in by Chief Pearsall while the wardens were sworn in by Village Administrator John Giordano.
