LFD Attends Village Memorial Service

Story by Ex-Captain Steve Grogan; Photos by Steve Grogan and Perfect Photo

Upon completion of the Village of Lynbrook's annual Memorial Day parade, Chief Nick Pearsall, and Assistant Chiefs, Mike Brooks, John Donald, and Chris Kelly, joined the members of Tally-Ho Engine Company 3 and attended the village's memorial services at the Doughboy Monument in Saperstein Plaza behind the LIRR station.  Department Chaplain Robert Walderman and this writer participated in the service which honors Lynbrook residents who died in battle in the wars since World War I.  One of the stones in front of the Doughboy has the name of Tally-Ho's ex-captain Jeff Wiener who was killed in action on May 7, 2005 in Iraq.  During the village service, the members of Tally-Ho placed a wreath in front of Jeff's stone.
