Working Van Fire

Lynbrook firefighters, under the command of Chief Carl Lengel, responded to a working van fire at about 5 PM on the afternoon of May 9, 2017 on Merrick Road just east of Denton Avenue.  Vulcan Company, around the corner, responded as did Truck Company.  Truck Company used available water cans while Vulcan Company stretched a line to the burning van.   Vulcan was assisted by Third Assistant Chief Michael Brooks who backed-up the attack line.  Firefighters then extinguished the fire.  Truck Company opened the hood and overhauled the interior.  Engine Company and Tally-Ho Companies stood-by.
