On August 8, 2019, just after 1 AM, the volunteers of the Lynbrook Fire Department were called on a mutual aid to the East Rockaway Fire Department which was battling a Signal 10 building fire at 49 Main Street in the heart of their business district.  Truck Company, Hose Company, Emergency Medical Company, and Floodlight's Command Post, under the command of Chief Nick Pearsall responded to the scene.  The fire was in the Taste of Vietnam Bistro kitchen and ceiling area. Lynbrook firefighters were at the scene for about 90 minutes.
