Lynbrook firefighters under the command of Chief Nick Pearsall responded to a reported car fire on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at about 11:15 PM.  The original location given for the call was Sunrise Highway and Denton Avenue.  Chief Pearsall found a working car fire at Sunrise and Rocklyn Avenue.  Engine Company 1 was first on the scene and immediately stretched a line to the burning vehicle.  Truck Company and Vulcan Company also responded to the scene.  Truck Company members assisted with the overhaul of the vehicle which was destroyed.  Eastbound traffic on Sunrise Highway was closed for about 45 minutes.  The driver was not injured.
