Lynbrook firefighters under the command of First Assistant Chief Michael Brooks responded to a reported car fire at the intersection of Lakeview Avenue and Ocean Avenue on Monday afternoon, January 20, 2020.  Firefighters found a car up against the front of the gas station office on that corner and fully involved in fire.  The fire was quickly knocked down with a hose line from Engine Company 1.  The car was destroyed while the building suffered no damage.  The driver was not hurt and escaped the vehicle.
