Lynbrook firefighters under the command of Chief Nick Pearsall responded to a reported garage fire on Wyoming Avenue on Sunday afternoon, January 19, 2020.  The homeowner used a garden hose to knock down the fire which was spreading up the side of the detached garage in the rear of his home.  Engine Company 1 was first engine on the scene and hooked up to a nearby hydrant and stretched a hose line up the driveway to the garage.  The garage was then wet down while Truck Company pulled off the siding to make sure the fire was extinguished.  Firefighters were at the scene for about 30 minutes.  The fire was contained to the exterior of the garage.
