On January 5, 2020, the New York District Kiwanis Circle K (college-level Kiwanians) presented Lynbrook Fire Department EMTs with a pediatric trauma kit. This kit is specifically designed just for children. Accident trauma is the number one cause for death in children. The Kiwanis organization has donated over 300 kits to local firehouses and ambulance corps.

New York District Circle K represented by Governor Peony Tse are the college scholars of the Kiwanis family. They raised the funds for the kit at a Walk-A-Thon held in Eisenhower Park.

The volunteers consist of elementary school K-Kids, middle school Builders’ Clubs, high school Key Clubs, and college Circle K, plus local community Kiwanis Clubs.Lynbrook’s Kiwanis Club lead by President Larissa Kostal helped to secure the medical trauma kit for the Lynbrook Fire Department.  Mayor Beach, Lynbrook Fire Chief Nick Pearsall, assistant fire chiefs, and officers of Lynbrook Emergency Medical Company gratefully accepted the kit on behalf of Lynbrook EMTs.

Joseph Corace, Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center Fountain President, and Larisa Kostal, extreme right, Lynbrook Kiwanis President, presented the pediatric trauma kit to Lynbrook Emergency Medical Company officers, Captain Kaitlin Curran, First Lieutenant Kacie Curran, and Second Lieutenant James Byrne.
