On Memorial Day 2013, Chief Edward Hynes led the officers and members of the Lynbrook Fire Department as well as the Ladies Auxiliary, and Junior Fire Department, in the annual memorial service at the Firefighters Memorial on Sunrise Highway. Their the department honored the memory of four Lynbrook firefighters who were killed in World War II. Wreaths were placed on the four stone markers. After the service the department marched in the Village of Lynbrook's Memorial Day parade down Merrick Road. After the parade, the chief, and the members of Tally-Ho attended the Veterans Memorial Service at the Doughboy Monument where a wreath was laid at the stone marker for Jeffrey L. Wiener who was killed in Iraq in 2005. The Floodlight Unit provided the sound system for both the firefighter and veteran memorial services.
