Thankgiving Overturn

Story & photos by  Ex Captain Steven Grogan

Two people were injured in an auto accident and overturn on Thanksgiving on Scranton Avenue and Sunrise Drive on Thanksgiving evening, November 26th, 2010.  According to police at the scene, the mother of a resident on the nearby corner had just pulled away from the curb on Scranton Avenue after sharing Thanksgiving with her family when the second vehicle traveling westbound on Scranton sideswiped the woman's car, hit a tree on the other side of the road, and overturned.  The woman's car hit a nearby telephone pole.  The Lynbrook Fire Department's Extrication Team and the Emergency Medical Company responded to the scene.  Both drivers were treated and stabilized by firefighters and medics.  They were both transported to the hospital in the fire department ambulance.  Neither were injured seriously.
