Recently, the Lynbrook Junior Fire Department was named as Nassau County's Best Junior Fire Department for 2008.  On Sunday, December 14, 2008, Lynbrook Fire Chief John O'Reilly, a former Junior himself, and the Assistant Chiefs attended the Junior FD monthly meeting and accepted the first place junior trophy from Junior Captain Kara McLaughlin, First Lieutenant Michael Rivera and Second Lieutenant Peter Germain.  Chief O'Reilly congratulated the juniors and their advisors for their great accomplishment.  This is the fourth time that the Juniors have been named as Nassau's Best.   The Lynbrook Junior Fire Department program is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year.
