Annual Installation Dinner

On Friday, May 6, 2011, the Lynbrook Fire Department held its Annual Installation and Dinner Dance at the Jericho Terrace in Mineola.  Outgoing Chief Raymond Burke was honored for his three years as an assistant chief and the past year as Chief of Department.  Also, Lynbrook Deputy Mayor Alan Beach, standing in for Mayor William Hendrick, swore in the new Chief Engineer Michael Hynes of Engine Company, as well as First Assistant Chief Anthony DeCarlo of Tally-Ho, Second Assistant Chief Edward Hynes of Engine Company, and Third Assistant Chief Michael Anderson. 

Chief Hynes then swore in the officers of each of the five fire companies and the Medical Company.  He also swore in the officers of the Lynbrook Junior fire Department, and the Ladies Auxiliary. 

Also at the dinner, Ex-Chief Tom Ryan, of Tally-Ho, was honored and made an Honorary Commissioner, and Ex-Captain Edward Murphy of Vulcan Company, was honored and made an Honorary Chief for their 50 years of volunteer service.  Additionally, Ex-Captain Richard Straub was named Lynbrook Firefighter of the Year.  Also, Engine Company was award the Chief's Award for last year's parade season by Ex-Chief Burke.
