At the Fire Council meeting on April 17, 2012, the mayor of the Village of Lynbrook swore in Anthony "Zemo" DeCarlo of Tally-Ho as Chief Engineer of the Lynbrook Fire Department for the coming year. Also sworn in was First Assistant Chief Edward Hynes, of Engine Company, Second Assistant Chief Michael Anderson, of Truck Company, and Third Assistant Chief James McDermott, also from Truck Company. During the ceremony the mayor thanked outgoing chief Michael Hynes for his service. A bottle of champagne was opened and the mayor offered a toast for a safe year.

After the chiefs were sworn in, Chief DeCarlo swore in the company and unit officers, and Village Administrator John Giordano swore in the wardens.
