On May 9, 2013, the Lynbrook Fire Department held their Annual Installation and Dinner dance at the Jericho Terrace in Mineola and honored Ex-Chief Edward Hynes of Engine Company, as well as Tom Waring and Robert Shephard of Tally-Ho, Walter Fitzer of Engine Company, and Robert Reckhard of Vulcan Company, for 50 years of service.  Additionally, Michael Hynes of Engine Company and Michael Gunning of Hose Company were honored for 25 years of service.  Ex-Chief Edward Hynes was presented a number of awards from his company and the department and also from the village and Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce.  The Department's Ladies Auxiliary also made a presentation to the department.  Local elected officials were also on hand and made presentation prior to the dinner to the honorees.  In addition, Michael Kenny was named Firefighter of the Year and Truck Company was awarded the parade trophy for last year's attendance at parades.  Lynbrook's Juniors were also in attendance.
