On Saturday, April 9, 2011, the Lynbrook Fire Department held its first Recruitment Drive at the Earle Avenue parking lot with each fire company, the medical company, and the juniors, participating. The drive was part of a New York State sponsored Volunteer NY program. As part of that program volunteer fire departments throughout the state held recruitment drives on April 9th and 10th. Lynbrook's efforts that day resulted in three applicants and a couple of junior applicants.
