For an unprecedented 5th year in a row the Lynbrook Fire Department are the champs of the Fourth Battalion after winning the annual parade which was held on June 23rd in East Rockaway.  Lynbrook's Juniors also won first place and their band took second place.  Rockville Centre finished second in the parade and East Rockaway finished third.    The Fourth Battalion consists of the East Rockaway, Lakeview, Lynbrook, Malverne, and Rockville Centre Fire Departments.

Rumor has it that a gentlemen's wager was made between Chief DeCarlo and Rockville Centre's Chief John Busching on the outcome of the parade. Chief Busching will now have to wear a dress and be Chief DeCarlo's date at the chief's dinner next year.
