Mutual Aid to Lakeview

Story & photos fro video by  Ex Captain Steven Grogan

Lynbrook's Fast Team was called on a mutual aid to Lakeview for a house fire just after 9:45 PM on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Truck Company members, led by Chief Anthony DeCarlo, joined West Hempstead, Elmont, Malverne, and Rockville Centre Fire Departments, who had also sent units to the scene. At the time the call came in Lakeview's firefighters were training at the Bethpage Fire Service Academy. West Hempstead's engine was first in and stretched two attack lines for a basement fire. Rockville Centre's ladder did most of the overhaul of a small basement kitchen where the fire was contained quickly before it spread. The fire had been blowing out of a driveway basement window when Nassau police officers arrived and reported a working fire at the house. The fire was under control with just one line in about 10 minutes. Lakeview's Chief Heather Senti was in command of the scene.
