At the September 19, 2011, Lynbrook Village Board meeting, the Chiefs and members of the Lynbrook Fire Department came out to witness the Village of Lynbrook officially recognize three volunteers who have served for 50 years. Ex-Chief Thomas Ryan, and Ex-Chief Peter Skeris, both of Tally-Ho Company, and Ex-Captain Edward Murphy, of Vulcan Company. Ex-Chiefs Ryan and Skeris, with their 50 years of service, were made Honorary Commissioners, while Ex-Captain Murphy was made an Honorary Chief.
