Car Fire on Peninsula Blvd.

Story and Photos by Ex-Captain Steve Grogan

On June 16th, 2012, Father's Day night at 9:20 PM, Lynbrook's volunteers responded under the command of Chief Anthony DeCarlo to a reported car fire on Peninsula Blvd at Ocean Avenue. Vulcan Company, Hose Company, and Truck Company's both ladders responded to the scene. A fire in the engine compartment was knocked down originally by a water can from the vehicle of First Assistant Chief Ed Hynes. Vulcan Company upon arrival used a line to wet down the vehicle. During the call, Peninsula Blvd was closed to traffic for about an hour causing a major traffic jam through the area.
