Lynbrook Helps Out in Lakeview
Story by Ex-Captain Steve Grogan, Photos by Firefighter Brian Grogan

On Father’s Day night, June 21st, 2009,  the Lynbrook Fire Department, under the command of Chief Kevin Bien responded on a mutual aid to the Lakeview Fire Department who had responded at about 8:30 PM to a house fire at the dead end of Edgewood Road.  Upon their arrival a Signal 10 was broadcast by Lakeview’s Chief Michael Joyce and Lynbrook was called, sending Truck 427 to the scene, and an ambulance from the Medical Company to stand-by at Lakeview’s headquarters.  In addition to Lynbrook, the other departments in the Fourth Battalion provided assistance at the scene and stand-by duty.  In addition, Lynbrook Ex-Chief Robert Cribbin, a member of the Nassau County Fire Commission, assisted at the command post during the fire.  Lynbrook was at the scene for about an hour and a half.  The fire is under investigation.
