The bill was sponsored by Senator Chuck Schumer and Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy. Jeff's wife Maria, their two girls, along with Jeff's mother, Jeff's brothers, and other family members, in-laws, and friends, were in attendance, as were members of Tally-Ho, the Lynbrook FD, Village Officials, the Valley Stream FD, FDNY, Babylon FD, and Nassau County EMS, and Patchogue Ambulance Corp. The Postal Service played a major role in the dedication ceremonies which were conducted in front of the post office on Eldert Street and Broadway which was closed to vehicular traffic that day.
