Lynbrook's New "Tumblers" Tournament Team Takes Home the Trophies

Story and Photos by Ex-Captain Steve Grogan and Firefighter Brian Grogan

The Lynbrook Fire Department's newly re-organized "Tumblers," Tournament Team, was invited to the Lt. Keith G. Fairben Floral Park FD Invitational Old Fashion Tournament which was held on July 22, 2007, at New Hyde Park FD's tournament arch.  The Tumblers took a total of six event trophies including a First Place in the Efficiency event beating out the tournament champs from RVC's Woodlanders.

Lynbrook total award points placed them in fourth place for the day.  The tournament, named after Lt. Keith G. Fairben, who was a member of the Floral Park FD and a member of their tournament team, was killed in the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001.  His family and the Floral Park FD annually hold this tournament in his honor.

Congratulations to our new Lynbrook "Tumblers" for a fine showing in this event and for also taking home three trophies in the Nassau County Old Fashion Tournament which was held on July 13th in Oyster Bay.
