Working Car Fire on Sunrise Hwy.

Story by  Ex Captain Steven Grogan -   Photos by Firefighter Brian Grogan

On the evening of August 16, 2010, at about 8 PM, the Lynbrook Fire Department was dispatched to a reported car fire on Sunrise Highway near Ocean.  Second Deputy Chief Anthony DeCarlo and Third Deputy Ed Hynes, as well as Vulcan Company, Hose Company, and Truck Company, all responded to the scene to find a working car fire at that location.  Vulcan was first in and stretched a line to the burning Lincoln Continental.  Truck Company also assisted by forcibly opening the hood and truck of the burning car.  Firefighters were at the scene for about 45 minutes.
