On the evening of September 11, 2009, the volunteers of the Lynbrook Fire Department joined their fellow residents at the Village of Lynbrook's 9/11 Memorial Park to remember those residents and family members from the village who were killed at the World Trade Center eight years ago.  During the ceremonies, the LFD color guard brought in the colors and Chief Kevin Bien read some of the names, while members of the Lynbrook Junior Fire Department helped with the placing of a single flower on each of the stone markers.  The Floodlight Unit provided the sound system.
