Mutual Aid to East Rockaway F.D.

On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, Lynbrook firefighters, under the command of Chief Edward Hynes, were called out on a mutual aid to the East Rockaway Fire Department, at about 5:45 PM, to assist at a reported Signal 10 at a single family home at 533 Atlantic Avenue, just west of Ocean Avenue. Lynbrook's Truck Company 428 was called to the scene as ERFD's ladder was out of service. Our Emergency Medical Company 425A also responded. The fire, in the basement boiler room, was quickly extinguished by ERFD with just one hose line. Lynbrook was on the scene for about 45 minutes.
