On Saturday, September 7, 2013, at about 5:40 PM, the Lynbrook Fire Department under the command of Chief Edward Hynes responded to a reported auto accident on Merrick Road at Blake Avenue in front of Suburbia Federal Savings.  A man driving a 1967 Rolls Royce Austin Princess limousine ran into the back of a Jeep waiting for the light at that intersection.  Their was no wedding party in the Rolls.  The driver of the Rolls was hurt after he broke the steering wheel with his chest upon impact.  Lynbrook police officers who were first on the scene gave the driver oxygen until the medical help arrived.  The Extrication Team also responded and assisted and stabilized the driver.  The Emergency Medical Company responded with both ambulances and put both drivers on backboards and stretchers and transported them to South Nassau.
