On Saturday afternoon, September 21, 2013, prior to the Lynbrook Fire Department's Community Concert for the Troops to benefit Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior, the Lynbrook Police Department challenged the firefighters in a softball game.  Just over $500 was raised that afternoon and it was also donated to NCFF-OWW.  Although the police department team, shorthanded by members working, had a number of police officers from other agencies playing in the game, it didn't help.  The firefighters beat the cops 13 to 1.
