On April 1, 2011, at approximately 10:00 AM, the Emergency Medical Company and the Extrication Team responded to a reported auto accident at the intersection of Peninsula Blvd and Hempstead Avenue.  Lynbrook police officers who arrived on the scene, followed by Second Deputy Chief Anthony DeCarlo, found the driver of the vehicle involved had driven into a curb on the corner after swerving from a turning tractor trailer truck in the intersection.  The vehicle and the truck never collided however a second vehicle received minor damage from the first vehicle.  The driver of the first vehicle was taken to South Nassau by the Medical Company.  The Extrication Team stood-by.
