On Monday, May 10, 2010, the Mets organization held Lynbrook Nite at Citi Field.  The night was sponsored by the Lynbrook Little League and the Village of Lynbrook.  The Lynbrook Fire Department color guard took part in the opening ceremonies and marched out into center field for the playing of the National Anthem.  The youngsters from the Lynbrook Little League lined the warning track during the ceremonies.  Additionally, during the opening ceremonies near home plate, Ex-Chief Kevin Bien was honored for his service as a chief for the past four years.  Also honored was Lynbrook Police Officer Doug King who received his award for helping firefighter Brian Brown rescue a man from his burning car on April 3, 2010.  The Mets lost.
