Street Re-Named for Dominick DeCarlo Jr.
Story by Ex-Captain Steve Grogan; Photos by Perfect Photo

On Sunday, March 25, 2012, the Village of Lynbrook officially re-named Horton Avenue in honor of Ex-Chief and Honorary Commissioner Dominick J. DeCarlo, Jr., a 65 year member of Tally-Ho. Present for the ceremonies, held before Tally-Ho's 100th Anniversary celebration, were the members of Tally-Ho, Uncle Dom's two children, Lisa, and Dominick Jr., the DeCarlo family, village, state, and county officials, along with members of the department, and friends. First Assistant Chief Anthony DeCarlo, Uncle Dom's nephew, uncovered the new sign which sits atop the street sign post opposite the firehouse. Signs are also affixed to the street signs at Merrick and Horton and Sunrise and Horton.
