On Sunday, April 26, 2015, the members of the Lynbrook Junior Fire Department held a breakfast fundraiser to support the family of Inwood Fire Department Ex-Chief Joseph "Junior" Sanford Jr. who made the supreme sacrifice when he died in the line of duty while fighting a house fire on December 23, 2014.  All the monies raised from this breakfast is being entirely donated to his family.  Approximately 400 firefighters from the surrounding fire departments and as far away as Roosevelt, as well as civilians, showed up at the Tally-Ho firehouse in Lynbrook on this day to support the efforts of these Juniors to help Junior's family.
