On Saturday evening January 12, 2008, the Lynbrook Junior Fire Department, which was organized in July 1978, held their annual dinner at the Tally-Ho firehouse.  Outgoing Junior Captain Daniel Dempsey was honored.  Dempsey has turned 18 years of age and is now a probationary firefighter with Engine Company. 

At the dinner, Lynbrook Fire Chief Robert Occhipinti presented Junior Ex-Captain Dempsey with a plaque.  Also, the present Junior Captain, Mike Isler, and Junior Second Lieutenant Mike Rivera, presented the Junior Firefighter of the Year award to Jeremy Seebaran.
