On Memorial Day 2015, Lynbrook Fire Chief James McDermott led the department, its Ladies Auxiliary, and the Junior Fire Department at the annual Memorial Day ceremonies at the Firefighters Memorial on Sunrise Highway at Earle Avenue.  The mayor and other officials, and clergy, were on hand as the department remembered two members of Truck Company and two members of Hose Company who were killed in action during World War II.  Wreaths were placed next to a marker for each of the four and the department also placed a wreath at the memorial. 

Chief McDermott then led the department in the Village of Lynbrook's annual Memorial Day parade down Merrick Road to Village Hall.  The chiefs then joined the members of Tally-Ho during the Veterans Memorial Service at the village's Doughboy Monument.  Tally-Ho laid a wreath at a marker in front of the Doughboy for Ex-Captain and Navy Corpsman Jeff Wiener who was killed in Iraq in 2005.
