Lynbrook Night at Citi Field
Story by  Ex Captain Steven Grogan - Photos by Village Photographer George McCluskey

Each year the Mets organization in cooperation with the Lynbrook Little League holds Lynbrook Community Night at the stadium.   This year, on May 26th, at the new Citi Field, and as in past years, the Lynbrook Fire Department color guard marched out into the outfield to present the colors for the singing of the National Anthem.  During the opening ceremonies the youngsters and their coaches from each of the Lynbrook Little League teams lined the warning track on the field.  A large group of Lynbrook volunteers were in the stands to watch the festivities.  Also during the ceremonies a number of Lynbrook residents were honored with the 2009 Spirit Award, including Ex-Chief John O'Reilly.  Lynbrook Chief Kevin A. Bien was on hand for the presentation.   The Mets won the game.
