New Floodlight Truck Delivered

Story and Photos by Ex-Captain Steve Grogan

Lynbrook Floodlight Unit No. 1 received its new Floodlight Command vehicle on Wednesday, October 25, 2007.  The vehicle was built by Marion Body Works of Marion, Wisconsin.  The salesman was Jon Shrumm of Northeastern Fire in Connecticut.   After arriving in Lynbrook the truck was taken the next day to Precision Art in Amityville  where it was lettered with Floodlight’s distinctive light blue and gold lettering.  When the  truck was returned to Lynbrook members of the unit were trained on driving and using the towers and other equipment on the new vehicle.  Change-over of the equipment from the old truck to the new was on Sunday, November 11th when the new truck was put into service for the first time.

The wet down of the new vehicle is scheduled for Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 12 noon at Engine Company’s quarters on Eldert Street.
