At approximately 4:55 AM on the morning of Thursday, January 10, 2013, a fully-loaded gasoline tanker traveling east on Burnside Avenue overturned at it turned north onto Route 878 heading for Peninsula Blvd.  The intersection is on the border of Inwood and the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Departments. Both departments responded with a full department response.  At 5:55 AM, the Lynbrook Fire Department was called to respond to the scene with one pumper.

Tally-Ho Engine 3 responded and staged on Route 878. Tally-Ho members assisted in foam operations and also created dikes to control the flow of gasoline.  Tally-Ho was at the scene till 3:30 PM when it was released by Hose Company who came to the scene for another hour and one half.  Lynbrook was one of approximately 15 departments that were at the scene or stood-by at firehouses to cover alarms for Inwood and LC.
