On January 4, 2015, during a heavy rain storm, and just a few hours after Lynbrook firefighters rescued a woman passenger from an SUV in the raven along Peninsula Blvd, firefighters were called out for an auto accident and overturn further north on Peninsula Blvd at Earle Avenue.  The department, led by Second Assistant Chief John Chavette, responded with the Emergency Medical Company, Truck Company, and Tally-Ho Engine 3.  All occupants were able to climb from their vehicles but two were taken by the Medical Company and NC EMS to the hospital.
