The Lynbrook Fire Department’s tournament team, The Tumblers, took Third Place in the Sixth Annual Keith G. Fairben Invitational Tournament which is sponsored by the Floral Park Fire Department and was held on Sunday, September 13, 2009.   Fifteen fire departments competed in the drill which is named after Floral Park firefighter and Doodlebugs tournament member Keith G. Fairben who as an EMS worker for Columbia Presbyterian Hospital was killed at the World Trade Center on September 11th.  Lynbrook finished behind the winner, the Rockville Centre Woodlanders, and Miller Place, which took second.

During the day, the Tumblers won two first place trophies in running ladder and efficiency; two second place trophies in three-man ladder and running hose; and a third place in buckets.   The team also broke three team records during the day.

With this third place finish at Floral Park, the Tumblers moved into second place in the total point standings for this year in Nassau County.  They will be honored at the upcoming Nassau County Drill Team Captains Association dinner in the fall.
