Tumblers Hold Invitational Tournament

The Lynbrook FD’s tournament team, the Tumblers, which is celebrating its 60th Anniversary as a department team, held an Invitational Old Fashion Tournament under sunny skies on Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Greis Park.  Fourteen teams from neighboring and nearby fire departments along with the Miller Place FD team which traveled from Suffolk County to attend.  There was much stiff competition throughout the nine ladder and hose events held but Rockville Centre’s Woodlanders team won the total point trophy, beating out the Miller Place team who came in second. 

The Tumblers won four trophies during the day.  Amongst the photos below, Lynbrook Chief Kevin Bien, second from left, presents the winning First Place total points trophy to the Woodlander’s team captain as, from third from left to right, Lynbrook Team Captains Chris Kelly and Mike Brooks, and Tournament Chairman and Ex-Chief Bill Donald, join in.
