On Saturday morning, November 29, 2008, Santa Claus arrived in Lynbrook at the Earle Avenue parking lot with the help of Truck Company 1 who drove Santa from the North Pole.  Santa then greeted Lynbrook's children before travelling to the Lynbrook Movie Theatre for a movie. 

On Friday evening, December 5, 2008, the Village of Lynbrook lit the village Christmas tree at Five Corners while other Winter Celebration activities took place on a closed Atlantic Avenue.  Members of Tally-Ho Engine 3 manned three burning barrels on the street that kept residents warmed on that chilly night.

The Lynbrook Junior Fire Department members also sold coffee and popcorn during the celebration.
