Liaison The Lynbrook Police Department received a
holdup alarm at the Country Corner Delicatessen, on the corner
of Lakeview Avenue and Rolling Street. While responding to the
alarm, a reported basement fire at the same location was
dispatched, alerting the Lynbrook Fire Department to respond to
the scene. Within minutes, the transmission of a working
building fire was made. For assistance, a mutual aid was
requested of the Malverne Fire Department for a Ladder to
respond to the scene, a Ladder from Rockville Centre was
requested, the Lakeview Fire Department responded with an Engine
and Ambulance and the East Rockaway Fire Department stood by in
Denton Avenue quarter with an Engine, Ladder and Ambulance. "The quick actions of the Department resulted
in a fast knock down of the basement fire," explained Lynbrook
Fire Chief James McDermott. "All members working at this
call are to be commended for their actions." |
