On Monday evening, September
11, 2006, the Lynbrook Fire Department, led by Chief Keith Festa,
attended the Village of Lynbrook’s dedication and unveiling of its new
9-ll Memorial that remembers 17 Lynbrook residents or former residents
that were killed at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
On that fateful day and the
following day, members of the Department’s then Heavy Rescue Extrication
Team, the Floodlight Unit, and the Emergency Medical Company, responded
to Manhattan where Lynbrook firefighters worked on recovery efforts.
