Magazine Story by Ex-Captain/Hon Chief Steve Grogan

US Army Lieutenant Colonel Dan Keener, now retired, the former commander of the Soldier Recovery Unit at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, was made and honorary member of the Lynbrook Fire Department at the department's May 2023 Installation Dinner. 

The article was published in the September 2023 edition of The Volunteer Firefighter magazine about LTC Keener, a man firefighters met three years ago during Lynbrook's December trip for Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior to Fort Belvoir to bring Christmas to our wounded warriors and their families.
